Welcome to our shop . . .
Come visit us in our new surrounds - a beautiful sandstone church built in 1865. We moved to our new location and re-opened on Saturday 7th August 2010.

Surrounded by wonderful stained glass windows, timber beams and other original features, it is a great place for a quilt shop!
Both of us love traditional style quilts and most of the fabrics in our shop are reproductions, both from the 1800's and 1930's. We also have a great range of retro fabrics which appeal to the young who are starting to get into sewing.
Our other love is 100% felted woven wool. We are one of Australia's largest suppliers and a lot of our designs use this great medium. We exhibit twice a year in the United States - International Quilt Market in Houston and Spring Market, this year being held in Portland, Oregon.
We never tire of admiring this beautiful place and we would love to share it with you, so whether or not you visit us in person or here on the website, we hope you enjoy the surrounds as much as we do. If there is something you are after and you have not found it on the website, please don't hesitate to drop us an email and we'll see if we can help you.

Gatherings
Twice a year we host a “Gathering” – the first usually in March or April - “An Autumn Gathering” and the second in October – “A Christmas Gathering”.
We previously used to hold these Gatherings in a charming old hall in Campania, 20 minutes from Hobart but now that we have this wonderful building and all this space, why wouldn't we have it here!
We generally have about 60 ladies at each one, some even from interstate, who enjoy a day of hand stitching, friendship and laughter. They may not get a lot of stitching done, but they sure have a great time, also getting in a bit of retail therapy! In the past we have had designers such as Rosalie Quinlan, Leanne Beasley, Lynette Anderson, Anni Downs, Natalie Bird, Natalie Ross, Sue Daley, Simone Gooding and most recently, Natalie Lymer and Kerry Gillespie.
Our most recent Gathering was held in November 2012. Because we have chosen to hold them here in our beautiful new nest, we had to reduce the number of people we could have, but it is so worth it to spend the day here in these wonderful surrounds.
The cost for one day's attendance is $110. For this you receive a goody bag with at least six patterns, a thank you gift from ourselves as well as some other little goodies, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. There are also lucky door prizes and any purchases made on the day will automatically be given a 10% discount.
Our next Gathering will be held on Saturday 22nd June and we are pleased to announce that Sue Daley of Patchwork with Busyfingers will be our guest tutor. Sue has only just returned from an extensive teaching trip throughout Europe, so to be able to have her here in our store is exciting, given her heavy schedule. Keep your eye out on either our blog (www.thequiltedcrowgirls.typepad.com) or our Facebook page (Quilted Crow Girls Designs) for further details.
We hope you enjoy your journey through the pages of The Quilted Crow and can visit us next time you are in Tasmania.
